The Implementations (hereafter referred to as ‘Imps’) team are a pre-sales and pre-production support team who work with customers and partners integrating to our payment solutions. We provide technical consultancy sessions, integration support, and carry out solution testing and accreditation.

The Imps team also provide on-site troubleshooting and support for large scale ‘go lives’ such as Wimbledon and charity events such as Chain of Hope. In addition, we provide internal and external training and workshops, as well as take part in any events that Optomany exhibit at, such as Retail Expo, and Restaurant Tech. We’re led by Matthew Beautridge who reports into Ryan Philo, Chief Product Officer.

I am the manager of the implementations team and have worked in the payments industry since 2005. I started in this industry in QA but I have also worked in Acquirer Certifications and Support management before finding my spiritual home in implementations.

The role of an Implementations Consultant is far too broad to note down in a few paragraphs, we get involved in every element from initial engagement acting as pre sales, technical consultative sessions with our customers developers, testing, product training, live order support, live technical support (as escalation for the support team) and beyond. Essentially we are the most technical customer facing team in the business and we are expected to know it all about everything we do. We are kinda like the oracle in the Matrix... but younger.

I'm lucky enough to manage Scott and Besiana and our small team are responsible for every technical element of every sale you make. Unfortunately we lost some resource during the restructure so we have had to learn to cope with a leaner operation. With the orders now coming in quicker than ever before it wont be long before we need to recruit and expand this team further. Generally customer support is a feeder for imps and individuals there that show exceptional promise usually migrate in to Implementations.

I own a few motorcycles with my pride and joy being a Ducati Scrambler and I enjoy camping, painting and music.

I have a background in Customer Service, having worked as a Call Centre Manager with Sky. I took redundancy from this role in 2010 as it had got quite boring. I spent a few years working in a wide variety of industries before settling into Payments in 2016. I joined Optomany in January 2017 as a Customer Support Agent and I am now a Senior Solutions Consultant in the Implementation team. I am 43 years old and live in Burntisland in Fife where I am settling comfortably into a number of stereotypes; Drinking whisky, nerding out, and being a grumpy Scotsman.

I still carry with me the passion for Customer Service that Sky drilled into me, but I also enjoy this job due to its changing & challenging nature. Our products are constantly evolving and it’s our team's role to be a source of expertise to our internal & external customers and partners on these products. There is no risk of me ever getting bored here.

I'm also really grateful for my wonderful team, who in no way forced me to add this at the end.

Besiana Jaha

I joined Optomany as a Solutions Consultant in January 2019 which has been my first role within the Payments industry. I have a background in Customer Service, Service Desk and Delivery Management within the Travel and Education sectors. I enjoy my role here as it’s a fast changing industry providing plenty of opportunities to learn, and I am also lucky enough to be part of such an amazing team! I have enjoyed many site visits such as Wimbledon 2019, as well as meeting some of our fantastic customers and partners. I live in London and in my spare time, I enjoy keeping fit, Mediterranean cuisine and the occasional abseil!
